The Huldrick Studio & Gallery

The Huldrick Studio & Gallery is the working studio and exhibition space of artist and photographer John Huldrick Wilhelm. One of a growing number of artists in Hastings setting up studios and galleries in the town. The gallery receives no outside funding and relies entirely on sales.

The gallery - located at 29 George Street in the heart of Hastings Old Town - opened in October 2004 and exhibits Huldrick's popular range of limited edition prints of Hastings and the South of England and many original paintings in oil, acrylic and watercolour. It also provides visitors with an opportunity to meet and purchase work directly from the artist.

VALENTINES MINI FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHIC PRINT
A BREAK FROM THE TRADITIONAL CARD

If you are looking for something different to give to your Valentine this year we may have just the thing. We have been working on a series of Mini Art Prints of our photographic images.

It occurred to me that it would mak a nice Valentines gift card. The Mini Fine Artt Prints are produced to the same standards as our conventional photographic prints but are small enough to fit in a desk top (5" x 7") photo frame. This way the recipient can keep the memory of the moment alive for longer.

Each print has an area on the reverse in which to write your message and it comes complete with a love red envelope.

Photograph of the Hastings Week Firework display taken with Hastings Pier as a backdrop. I was planning this shot during the week running up to the Hastings Week Firework Finale. I spent a few hours on the Friday before the display scouting out the perfect position for what I had in mind. After the event back to the studio to see what I had. Perrrfect!

SNOW BOUND
NEW LIMITED EDITION PRINT - NOW AVAILABLE

Following on from February's heavy snowfall I have produced a new watercolour painting "Snow Bound" which is now available as a limited edition print.

The image features RX60 on the Stade, Hastings surrounded by lobster pots. Only 250 copies of this print will be issued. Each individually signed, numbered and titled by the artist. The prints are made using 150 year lightfast inks on Bockingford™ paper

The original watercolour is also currently for sale priced at £225 (unframed).

SEA STUDY

A study in acrylic on canvas of the effect of the sea as it shallows over sand. Based on observations mad on my walks to the studio along Hastings beach.

This original painting is on display in the gallery and has recently sold. The deep edge canvas measures 30" x 30" and is painted around the edges so requires no framing.

NORTH CORNWALL · COASTAL PATH

I love the coastal paths of North Cornwall and I think this is reflected in my treatment of the subject. There can be nothing better than rounding a headland and getting that first glimpse of a new beach you have never dicovered before. Even better if you have it all to yourself!

These canvases would be ideal hung either side of a door -giving the impression of windows out of the room. The paintings bring a freshness to the viewer and you can almost hear that surf... Oh and the gulls!

ECLIPSE · BLUE SHIFT

One of a series of three paintings of the solar eclipse I have recently completed. The others included- "Eclipse - Neutral Shift" (Sold)
and "Eclipse - Red Shift".

These really are striking images - many people enter the gallery because they have caught a glimpse of them through the window.

This original painting (acrylic on canvas) is currently offered for sale at £240.
